It is Sunday morning and the village community is standing upside down. It is May festival in Tannau. The maypole has just been erected by the local volunteer fire fighters that have successfully guarded it over night. The brass band is playing and most of the villagers got together for a morning drink. The members of the “Trachtengruppe” coming from the neighbouring village are dressed in their traditional national costumes. They are ready to entertain the guests with a typical Bavarian shoe-slapping dance. But Tony and Rose show little interest in the village festival. Hidden from prying eyes, behind a bush, they are making themselves comfortable and are concerned with the really important things in life. They are even unaffected by the scrap in that the policemen have to intervene so early this morning.
