The PROXXON HSS MICRO twist drill bit offers choice steel quality and solid construction. For optimal concentricity, the drill part and shaft are made from a single piece of metal. Good hardness ensures a long service life with simultaneous flexibility. For machining metal, non-ferrous metal, plastic, circuit boards, softwood and hardwood.

Note: the designation HSS for this group of tools comes from the drilling material used. High-speed steel (HSS) is a high-alloy tool steel which is wear-resistant and dimensionally stable up to approx. 600°C due to its manufacturing process.
When machining steel, cutting oil or coolant emulsion should be used as a cooling lubricant. Methylated spirits or petroleum are used with aluminium; plastic and wood can usually be processed dry.
