Finally, the long, cold winter is over, the peaks are finally clear again and the snow has melted away. Time to go back to the mountains and experience a real mountain spring. For now it is not yet as hot as in summer but the huts and alpine pastures are slowly opening up again for people and livestock!
In an environmentally friendly way, the hiker travels to our small, perfect world by train. We pass the Christl hut. The original, by the way, is in Grainau at the foot of the Zugspitze and, according to tradition, Christl used to hand the train driver a beer or two in the driver's cab.
You'll spend the night in the Edelweiss guesthouse. After all, who needs great luxury? You'd rather enjoy the rustic charm of the family-run former farmhouses and the hosts who serve you at their own breakfast table in the parlour, handing you fresh milk, cheese and a chamois sausage or two.
After such a sumptuous breakfast, however, the next pass must be conquered on a racing bike to get rid of the calories. Bend after bend, the road seems to stretch on endlessly. Especially since, as a real athlete, you don't use an electric drive, but pedal up with pure leg power and thus measure yourself against the mountain in the traditional way!
