Designing bodies of water with Water-Drops® "clear"
"Water-Drops®" are the ideal material for reproducing stagnant and running bodies of water in a model. Two things make"Water-Drops®" indispensable when designing a body of water: their easy processing and the possibility of re-melting the body of water after hardening (e.g. with a powerful hairdryer). Waves can therefore be modelled subsequently, or scratches removed from the surface of the body of water. The "Water-Drops®" are offered in the variants "transparent", "easy" and "color".

A major advantage of the Water-Drops® is that changes can even be made to the water surface itself after hardening. Due to the low melting point of the Water-Drops®, the material can be melted and reworked with a hairdryer. By using a heat gun, the entire Water-Drops® body of water can even be liquefied again. Consequently, this product is ideal for subsequently designing waves or rapids.
However, there are a few important things to keep in mind when using the Water-Drops®.
To ensure that the plasticiser is completely merged with the Water-Drops®, it’s necessary to stir the melted Water-Drops® very well with a metallic object such as a screwdriver or an old spoon. In addition, the Water-Drops® should not be heated in the microwave. Due to the hot processing, they are also only suitable for adult hobbyists.

Für das Gestalten von realistischen Gewässern gibt es viele verschiedene Möglichkeiten, die mal einfacher und mal schwieriger ausfallen. Mit den Water Drops ist die Gestaltung relativ einfach und man erhält ein tolles Ergebnis, wenn man sich an die Anweisungen der beiliegenden Anleitung hält. Das Verhältnis zwischen den Water Drops und dem Härter ist, wenn man nicht direkt den gesamten Packungsinhalt zusammenmischt, etwas schwierig zu treffen; Ein tolles Ergebnis ist trotzdem machbar. Nach dem Erhitzen der Water Drops habe ich die Erfahrung gemacht, dass es sich lohnt, die Masse ruhig ein wenig länger umzurühren, um einer eventuellen Blässchenbildung zuvorzukommen und ein optimales Ergebnis nach dem Erhärten zu erhalten. Kommt es doch zur Bildung von Blässchen, lassen sich diese durch ein erneutes Erwärmen - beispielsweise durch den Einsatz eines Föhns - entfernen.
