Holly sits in her home and waits longingly for the first snowflakes of the year. Meanwhile, she tries to stage the situation in her model-making world.
In a small town, a young woman named Holly lived with her family for 25 years in a modest detached house. Holly loves to reflect the impressions she gathers on her daily walks in small miniature landscapes.
Holly has bright blonde hair, which she often braids into a practical plait as she lovingly places tiny trees, lights up little houses and places miniature figures in her little worlds. She has a special talent for creating scenes that seemed so alive that you could almost hear the laughter of the children or the barking of the dogs from the scenes.
It was early December and the whole town was eagerly awaiting the first snowflakes to usher in winter. Holly especially loved the snow because it turned the world into a "powdered sugar" covered landscape.
On a late afternoon, as Holly was putting up a tiny string of lights on an even tinier Christmas tree, the first snowflakes began to fall outside. She put her work aside and rushed out to enjoy the spectacle. The air was filled with the stillness that only snow can bring, and the world seemed to stop for a moment.
Holly reached out to catch the snowflakes, and each individual crystal was a marvel of complexity and beauty. A thought occurred to her - she could mirror this perfection of nature in her little miniature world.
Inspired by the purity of snow, she looked at her diorama and thought about what she could cover with snow. To be able to depict the perfection of nature in miniature, Holly lets the powder snow trickle over her miniature landscape. Also fences,buildings and trees also received a gentle dusting of snow. Holly uses snow paste to add a wintry touch to roofs and cars. The figures were carefully positioned to tell a story - from the children building snowmen to the grandparents watching from their little houses as the young children tobogganed.
After days of work, Holly finally finished and showed her family the masterpiece she had built! Her family marveled at how Holly had managed to capture the magic of the first snowflakes and the stillness of winter in such a small form.
