Get That Holiday Feeling!
If you’re planning on giving someone money for a trip or holiday but don’t want to put it in the obligatory envelope, Liska from dekotopia.net has just the right idea for you!
The banknotes are packed behind the glass as a landscape and the mini models add the finishing touches. This gift of money becomes an eyecatcher to remind you that you’ll be off on holiday sometime soon. And when the holiday is over and the money has been spent, you can put one of your holiday snaps in the frame as a souvenir.
Instructions from Liska from dekotopia.net
You need that
- Picture frames with some space behind the glass
- Modelling figures (Mountaineers, Hikers and Goats for the maritime sailing boat frame and for the mountain frame; Grass Tufts, Autumn Trees and a Palm Tree as decoration beside them)
- Craft glue
- Cotton wool
- Light blue paper as background
1. Fold banknotes
Fold your banknotes to form a point. For the mountains, I folded them once lengthwise and once across to create greater dynamics. For the waves, they always have to be folded across. It looks the most beautiful when the peaks are not (always) in the middle but vary a little.
2. Affix banknotes and background
Use Patafix or easily removable tape to affix the notes on the background. It’s not so bad if they protrude along the side. Stick the model figures on or by the mountains with Patafix. This allows them to be removed later without leaving any residue.
3. The landscape emerges
Glue a few figures and grasses inside the frame. These can later be seen in front of the ‘landscape’.
4. Everything in the frame
Place the voucher and the back board in the frame. Protruding notes are now simply creased and look out from the back. If they are only small pieces, you can leave these. If they are slightly larger, use easily removable tape or Patafix to hold them in place.
